ISIDRE TOLOSA

Born in Barcelona on November 4 1966. When he was 16 years old he started  working in a warehouse called Marieta Textile, under the guidance of Maria Cardoner who would introduce him to the technique  of stirring fabrics, texture and colours which was an unusual trend at the time. That was a significant event in his life as it put him in contact with top designers of the time the likes of Javier Mariscal,Vinçon…It was due to that event why he decided to pursue a career as an artist.

In 1996 he took drawing and painting lessons  with Gustavo Grünig, painter and ceramist.

He combines the different  engraving  techniques learnt with Txuma Sanchez, with  several courses in oil landscapes of the Sanvisens School painters taught by Teresa and Aàngel G. Llàcer.

Since 2004 attended the workshop Mariano Andres Vilella, sculptor, master of stone carving and professor at the Faculty of Fine Arts in Barcelona, deepening his knowledge of the world of sculpture in stone.

In  2009 he was one of the finalists  coming third in the Prize for Sculpture at the Vila Casas Foundation with its work “Books,” becoming part of the permanent  Foundation Collection.
